Reiki Yoga Retreat with Sound Journeys in the Redwoods of Northern California

This autumn, Ground & Glow invites you to experience balance, rest, and renewal in the heart of the redwoods. Over four days and three nights, this Reiki yoga retreat blends daily yoga practices with restorative sessions, gentle Reiki support, and sound journeys designed to ease the mind and restore harmony. All of this unfolds at Spirit Camp on the Mendocino Coast, a Northern California yoga retreat destination where nature and community create space for deep connection.

A Retreat to Restore Balance and Renewal

Ground & Glow (October 9–12, 2025) is built around seasonal transition, inviting participants to ground themselves as autumn sets in and to leave feeling more inspired and alive. Each day includes yoga sessions suited for all levels, paired with opportunities to rest through restorative practice, meditation, or gentle energy work.

Reiki and sound healing are woven in thoughtfully—never the sole focus, but present as powerful complements. Evening sessions in Spirit Camp’s Sanctuary may include soundscapes of crystal bowls and chimes alongside Reiki touch, supporting release and inner stillness after active days.

The result is a holistic Mendocino healing retreat, where yoga forms the center and complementary practices expand the experience.

How Reiki and Sound Healing Support Yoga Practice

Reiki and sound healing are both subtle practices that naturally pair with yoga. Reiki offers a gentle approach to restoring balance—light touch or hands-off presence that many find calming. Sound journeys use vibration, resonance, and rhythm to encourage relaxation, deepening meditation, and supporting stress release.

In the context of this yoga and sound healing retreat, these modalities are not stand-alone programs, but companions to yoga’s core grounding. Reiki may be offered in group settings or infused into evening restorative sessions. Sound journeys enhance stillness by amplifying presence and inviting participants to rest more fully. Together, they enrich yoga’s capacity to connect body, breath, and spirit.

Spirit Camp’s Vibrational Sanctuary

Spirit Camp is a queer-owned redwood retreat center located near the ocean and just ten minutes from the village of Mendocino. Its Sanctuary, with copper roofing and natural acoustics, creates a luminous container for evening sound sessions and community circles.

Accommodations range from cozy cabins to seasonal glamping tents and nostalgic bunkhouses. Meals from Simone’s Kitchen are fresh, plant-based, and nourishing, turning dining into shared community time. Whether walking trails, relaxing in Magic Meadow, or gathering at the Lodge, the camp’s design encourages ease, connection, and play. Learn more at Spirit Camp.

Mendocino’s Healing Landscape

Spirit Camp sits on the Northern California coast, about three hours from San Francisco and Oakland, and around two hours from Santa Rosa. The retreat center is only minutes from Mendocino, where cliffside trails, ocean views, and small-town charm invite exploration.

This makes Ground & Glow an accessible yoga retreat with energy balance for Bay Area travelers and a restorative coastal yoga weekend California experience without the need for long flights.

FAQs

  1. How is Reiki included?
Reiki is offered in group contexts, usually during evening restorative or sound-supported sessions. It’s a gentle complement to the yoga practice, not a separate or intensive course.

  2. Are sound sessions daily?
Sound journeys are woven in throughout the weekend but are balanced with other activities like yoga, meditation, and nature immersion. They are part of the rhythm, not the retreat’s primary focus.

  3. Can beginners join?
Yes. This retreat is open to all levels. Both Aubrey and Jenn provide clear guidance and modifications so everyone feels comfortable, whether new to yoga or experienced.

Local Exploration

Mendocino Headlands – Cliffside Trails & Ocean Horizons

Just steps from town, Mendocino Headlands State Park offers trails that hug dramatic bluffs above the Pacific. Wildflowers, sea arches, and sweeping vistas make it a favorite for meditative walks or photography. The paths are accessible and close enough for a gentle outing during retreat downtime.

Van Damme State Park – Fern Canyon Hike

Ten minutes south of Mendocino, Van Damme State Park shelters a cool, lush canyon filled with ferns and trickling streams. Its Fern Canyon trail is a shaded walk through dense greenery, offering a quiet, restorative contrast to the coastal cliffs. This hike is gentle, immersive, and pairs beautifully with the retreat’s focus on slowing down.
