Retreat Description

Rediscover Purpose in Midlife

Midlife invites new questions: Am I where I want to be? What does fulfillment look like now? At this retreat, facilitators Jeff Sun and Andrew Blotky guide participants through a curated series of experiences—group conversations, guided mindfulness, and 1:1 coaching—to reconnect with what matters most. This is more than a break from routine; it's a catalyst for clarity and intention.

A Weekend of Insight, Support, and Spiritual Quiet

Held at Spirit Camp, nestled in the ancient redwoods of Mendocino, California, the retreat takes full advantage of its natural surroundings to support deep listening and inner work. Days begin with morning meditation and yoga, followed by spacious meals, facilitated dialogue, solo time in nature, and evening integration circles. Participants will also receive an individual coaching session post-retreat to continue momentum at home.

Connection Without Comparison

This is not a dating event—it’s a spacious, nourishing container where gay and queer men can explore connection beyond performance, comparison, or the pursuit of partnership. You’ll be part of a small, hand-picked group (no more than 15 participants), enabling intimate, meaningful conversations in an environment of safety, laughter, and mutual respect.

A Soulful Setting in the Redwoods

The retreat unfolds within Spirit Camp’s 27-acre forest sanctuary, just minutes from the Pacific Ocean and the village of Mendocino. Whether you're journaling in the Sanctuary, stretching in Redwood Lodge, or soaking in golden hour at Magic Meadow, the land itself becomes part of the experience. Spirit Camp’s plant-based, farm-to-table cuisine, communal rituals, and queer-affirming values create a rare container for healing and transformation.

This experience is perfect for those searching for: queer men’s retreat, midlife retreat for queer men, gay men’s retreat, midlife gay men’s retreat, gay men mindfulness retreat, gay men’s group, yoga and mindfulness retreat.

The redwoods here speak without words, their towering presence reminding you that you, too, can reach upward toward new possibilities. Along private forest trails, ancient ferns and soft moss hint at the timeless cycles of growth and renewal. Around campfires, heartfelt dialogues spark between strangers who quickly become friends, united by the shared longing for authenticity and connection.

Spirit Camp’s calendar overflows with options, reflecting the many paths toward personal transformation. Immerse yourself in healing retreats that integrate breathwork, somatics, and mindfulness, or embrace your physicality through dance and embodiment retreats that let you express emotions wordlessly. Owned by a queer couple devoted to inclusivity, this center welcomes men’s gatherings, women’s weekends, and groups of all genders and identities. Whether your interest lies in yoga, ancestral reconnection, or simply the desire to unplug from screens and reconnect with the land’s quiet wisdom, you’ll find a nurturing space to thrive here.

Accommodations cater to your preferred level of immersion: private cabins invite restorative solitude, while camping and glamping options open the door to a more immediate communion with nature’s gentle lullaby. Each season brings its unique charm: winter’s cozy hush for introspection, spring’s lush revival, summer’s starry nights that dance above the treetops, and autumn’s quiet invitation to release what no longer serves. The center’s intention is always the same—to offer a nurturing haven where you can tend to your inner garden and watch it bloom.

As you prepare to depart, you’ll notice subtle shifts within yourself. A sense of calm where there was once tension, a feeling of openness where there was once guardedness. The lessons gleaned from redwood groves and warm conversations accompany you back into the world. In the days and weeks to come, you’ll find yourself increasingly attuned to the magic you activated here—resilient, compassionate, and deeply in tune with the core of who you are.
