A Retreat for Men Who Lead—And Want to Lead from the Body

Hosted at Spirit Camp in Mendocino, Northern California, this five-day experience unfolds from January 15–19, 2026, within towering redwoods and a brotherhood devoted to purpose, presence, and integrity.

Led by longtime men’s coach and facilitator Travis Streb, the immersion invites fathers, partners, entrepreneurs, and creatives—particularly those in their late 30s and over 30—to rediscover leadership from the inside out. Embodied Men’s Work: The Practice of Presence and Integrity

At its heart, this men’s leadership retreat northern california immersion revolves around embodied men’s work: movement, breath, and truth-telling woven into daily rhythms that reconnect men with their inner compass.

Unlike conventional executive retreats or abstract leadership trainings, this work happens in real time—through the body, through felt experience. Breathwork sessions help reset the nervous system and cultivate emotional steadiness. Movement practices such as Kundalini yoga and Chi Gong expand vitality and awareness. Shadow work processes bring unexamined patterns into light, allowing men to meet what’s been hidden with clarity and compassion.

These practices aren’t about mastering a single modality; they’re about widening your capacity to lead—at work, at home, and in service to something larger. Participants leave with tangible tools to ground themselves amid complexity, listen more deeply, and respond with courage rather than reactivity.

Modern research supports what these ancient practices have long known: conscious breath and body-centered awareness directly enhance focus, empathy, and resilience—essential qualities for leadership in any field. For a practical summary of these effects, see this overview of embodied mindfulness practices here.

In short: this is leadership without the mask. Presence over posture. Purpose over performance.

Guide Spotlight — Travis Streb

Travis Streb has guided men, leaders, and couples for more than a decade, bringing a rare blend of grounded insight, humor, and fierce compassion. His facilitation blends archetypal psychology, somatic leadership, and relational depth, refined through years of co-leading the Embodied Men’s Leadership Training with John Wineland.

Travis understands the paradox of modern leadership: how outward success can mask inner disconnection. His mission is to bridge that gap—to help men embody purpose instead of perform it. In his containers, vulnerability is strength, and leadership begins not with control but with capacity.

Expect small-group intensity—no more than 18 men—and a structure that fosters accountability, intimacy, and real growth. Over the course of the immersion, you’ll engage in morning movement, breathwork, and deep dialogue designed to bring awareness from the head back into the heart and body.

As Travis often says, “Real leadership isn’t about doing more—it’s about being more present.”

The Spirit Camp Cadence: Circles, Practice, and Integration

Each day at spirit camp leadership retreat follows a rhythm both structured and spacious. Mornings begin with breath and embodied movement under the forest light. After breakfast, you gather in circle—sometimes in silence, sometimes in raw conversation—to explore what’s moving within you.

Afternoons often open into integration: journaling in the Sanctuary’s sunlight, walking forest trails, or simply resting in the quiet hum of the redwoods. Evening meals—locally sourced, plant-forward, and nourishing—anchor the group before night sessions around the hearth or fire circle. These sessions invite real talk about leadership, relationships, and purpose—without performance or pretense.

Spirit Camp itself, a redwood retreat center in Mendocino County, provides an ideal setting for this work. The Sanctuary, with its copper roof and skylit warmth, holds group circles and meditations. The Redwood Lodge, with its stone hearth, hosts shared meals and evening dialogues. Whether you stay in a private cabin or shared bunkhouse, every space feels intentional—clean, cozy, and energetically renewed.

Here, “leadership” extends beyond titles or roles. It’s the quiet integrity of how you show up, listen, and move in the world.
